president’s message
With the Wimmera and Southern Mallee currently enjoying the prospect of another positive season, preparations are underway for the Wimmera Machinery Field Days on March 6, 7 & 8 in 2012. On behalf of the committee and staff, I invite you to join us as we celebrate the 50th year of our event.
The Wimmera Machinery Field Days is Western Victoria’s premier annual broadacre event attracting exhibitors from all states of Australia and thousands of patrons from all over Victoria, Southern NSW and the South East of South Australia.
As the first broadacre Field Days of the calendar year the WMFD is uniquely positioned between harvest and the new cropping season. It is traditionally this time of the year that farmers are planning equipment purchases or looking at ways in which they can improve efficiencies and refine their farming techniques and businesses.
The WMFD has a proud tradition of providing access to the best and latest products and services across a diverse range of farming industries. It gives the opportunity for exhibitors to interact with thousands of eager customers, both existing and new, in a face-to-face social atmosphere. The event caters not just for farmers but also farming and regional families and the committee has strived to develop a program of events and attractions that is attractive to all patrons.
We are constantly developing our infrastructure and as such, our purpose built site boasts many options for exhibitors. Our modern indoor pavilions are all air-conditioned and we also offer powered external sites giving exhibitors their preferred setting for presenting their business.
Thank you for considering the Wimmera Machinery Field Days to showcase your product in 2012. We look forward to your attendance at our event and helping us celebrate our milestone year. Please do not hesitate to contact our helpful staff for any assistance in booking for this event.

what are the Wimmera Machinery Field Days?
TheWimmeraMachinery Field Days is an iconic three day event on the rural Australian calendar. A regional volunteer committee has managed the nonprofit event, theWimmera-Mallee’s largest annual community gathering, since 1963.
The Field Days acts as a barometer for social, economic, agricultural prosperity and growth in the entire region. Hosted at its purpose-built site at theWimmera Events Centre at Longerenong near Horsham in western Victoria, the event has grown into one of country Australia’s largest agricultural and agribusiness trade shows.
The Field Days is a showcase of the latest developments in farming practice, machinery, equipment, technology and services. The Field Days committee has maintained a long-term charter to foster innovation and development in primary production and agribusiness.

impact
The Wimmera Machinery Field Days provides significant economic benefit to the Wimmera. This important event injects in excess of $3 million directly into the broader Wimmera economy each year, however, the potential economic contribution to the region is significantly higher. Economic benefits continue well beyond the three-day event in sales enquiries and business.
The Wimmera Machinery Field Days places Horsham and the Wimmera on the national and international stage. More than $200 million in machinery, equipment and materials find a home at the Field Days site. Conservative estimates suggest the three days generate well over $50 million in trade.
importance
The Wimmera Machinery Field Days provides a unique forum for people to gather and discuss farm-technology developments, create networks, socialise, rekindle friendships and business relationships and to stay in touch with industry advances. Field Days organisers rely heavily on support and participation of Wimmera community volunteers and regional businesses.
